Financial Documentation Requirements for Form I-20 / DS-2019

To qualify for a Form I-20 or Form DS-2019 from Brown, you must submit financial documentation that shows that you have sufficient financial resources for the estimated expenses for at least the first academic year of your program. Please read below for more information about what types of documents are acceptable and the required amount that must be documented for your program.

about the estimate of expenses

The estimates below reflect a reasonable estimate of the cost of attendance at Brown for major recurring categories, such as tuition, required fees, food and housing, personal living expenses, and book and supplies. However, the estimate does NOT include the cost of international travel, visa application and SEVIS fees, miscellaneous one-time Brown administrative fees, and any course-specific fees. The estimates are for I-20 / DS-2019 issuance purposes only and may differ from actual tuition and fee charges as approved by the Corporation. Please also keep in mind that living expenses may vary from student-to-student, depending on individual needs and spending requirements.

For more information about University tuition and fees, consult the Tuition and Fees webpage or contact your school's financial aid office.
