Dear Community Members:

Effective this Fall 2026, International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) will introduce a series of administrative and maintenance fees for different types of F-1 and J-1 services. 

These resources provided by these fees will be critical in supporting ISSS's advising, operations, and services for our F-1 and J-1 students and scholars. A full description of the new fees, including fee policies and amounts, can be found on our ISSS Administrative Fees page. New fees will include the following:

• F-1 Post-Completion Optional Practical Training Maintenance Fee (effective 10/1/2026)
• J-1 Post-Completion Academic Training Maintenance Fees (effective 10/1/2026)
• J-1 Student Intern Program Fee (effective 9/1/2026)
• J-1 Visiting Research Fellow (VRF) Program Fees (effective 9/1/2026)

The F-1 STEM Extension OPT fee, which was implemented in July 2025, remains unchanged.

Fee payment links will be incorporated into the specific instructions for each type of request once they become effective.
