Getting Your Form I-20 or Form DS-2019 from Brown

Form I-20 and Form DS-2019 are certificates needed to apply for the F-1 or J-1 student visa, respectively

The first step is applying for a student visa is to receive your Form I-20 or Form DS-2019 from Brown.

Form I-20 is used to apply for the F-1 student visa.
Form DS-2019 is used to apply for the J-1 visa

All F-1 students attending Brown will receive their Form I-20 from Brown. J-1 students may receive their Form DS-2019 from Brown, or from another J-1 sponsoring organization (e.g., IIE Fulbright for Fulbright grantees).
